About this Role
We’re looking for our first in-house Chartered Accountant to build and lead the finance function at Sandstone.
This is a foundational role that combines strategic finance with hands-on ownership of day-to-day financial operations. You’ll work closely with the founders and leadership team to drive financial clarity, discipline, and insight — while ensuring that the fundamentals (invoicing, reporting, compliance, cash flow management) run smoothly and scale with us.

What You’ll Do
Own Finance Operations
Manage end-to-end finance operations including invoicing, accounts receivable/payable, payroll coordination, expense management, and cash flow oversight.
Ensure accurate monthly bookkeeping, reconciliations, and timely management reporting.
Implement and maintain strong financial controls and internal processes.
Oversee tax compliance, statutory filings, and annual audits in partnership with external advisors.
Build reliable reporting rhythms (monthly close, cash flow updates, KPI dashboards).
Drive Financial Strategy & Planning
Build and maintain financial models to support growth planning, hiring decisions, pricing, and capital allocation.
Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasts in partnership with leadership.
Track and analyze key financial and operational metrics, identifying risks and opportunities.
Prepare board and investor reporting materials as we scale.
Build the Finance Function
Design scalable finance systems, tools, and workflows.
Select and implement the right finance tech stack (accounting, billing, reporting).
Establish best practices that position Sandstone for long-term scale.
Act as a strategic thought partner to the founders on financial trade-offs and growth decisions.
What You’ll Bring
Qualified CA (SA or equivalent) with 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, FP&A, or a related field.
Strong grounding in accounting fundamentals, financial controls, and compliance.
Experience managing full-cycle finance operations (invoicing through reporting).
Proven ability to build financial models and translate data into clear business insights.
High ownership mindset — comfortable operating both strategically and in the details.
Strong communication skills, able to partner effectively with non-financial stakeholders.
Experience in a startup or high-growth environment is a plus.
