About this Role
About the role
We're hiring an Associate Account Executive to support our sales organization. This is not a BDR/SDR role focused on pipeline creation or qualification. Instead, Associate AEs at Sandstone support all aspects of the sales cycle.
The role is designed to maximize exposure to all the skills that make someone an effective AE — navigating procurement, building compelling proposals, running a security review, closing on pricing. We believe the best way to learn is by doing the work, at first owning portions of the sales cycle, and then graduating to own the entire process end to end.
We expect our Associate AEs to own their own book of business within a year of joining.
What you'll work on
Deal execution
Own RFP responses end-to-end, coordinating across sales, post-sales, and product
Manage vendor assessments and security questionnaires for enterprise prospects
Build and refine proposals, pricing presentations, and quote configurations
Support contract workflows from initial redline through signature
Sales infrastructure
Maintain and improve the library of sales materials: one-pagers, decks, case studies, competitive positioning
Develop deal-specific collateral when existing assets don't fit the situation
Identify gaps in the sales motion and take ownership of filling them
GTM operations
Coordinate efforts between marketing and sales, leveraging AI to maximize outreach
Contribute to pipeline reporting, data hygiene, and process documentation
Deal progression
Work alongside senior team members on active deals from discovery through close
Take on accounts and expansion opportunities as capacity and judgment develop
Move into a defined quota-carrying territory within 12 months
What we're looking for
Sales experience is less important than the right orientation. The people who do well in this role tend to be precise, curious about how complex deals come together, and comfortable doing substantive work without a lot of hand-holding.
Specifically:
Strong written communication — proposals, RFP responses, and executive-facing materials require clarity and care
Attention to detail, particularly in high-stakes or compliance-adjacent work like security reviews
Comfort working in an environment where processes are still being built
A disposition toward ownership — you'll have real responsibility from the start
Experience in legal tech, enterprise SaaS, or sales operations is a plus, but not a requirement.
