Who Is Alexandra Sepulveda
Alexandra Sepulveda builds and scales legal functions that help high-growth companies move faster. She partners closely with Sales, GTM, Product, People, and executive leadership to drive revenue, manage risk, and enable execution across the business. Her work spans enterprise SaaS and AI-driven agreements, IP and technology transactions, and the systems that support them — and she has built and led commercial legal functions through company pivots, restructurings, and rapid growth, designing contracting frameworks that reduce friction in deal cycles while maintaining rigor. Alexandra's reach extends well beyond contracts. She advises on people matters, supports procurement and vendor strategy, and helps teams navigate the complex, cross-functional decisions where legal, business, and operational considerations intersect. Her operating philosophy is simple: "Legal's role is to accelerate the business, not slow it down." Outside her core role, she hosts an interview series exploring how senior legal leaders exercise judgment and partner with the business in high-stakes environments.
What's one accomplishment you're proud of?
Ask Alexandra about a career highlight and she doesn't reach for a title or a deal — she points to an article about beach volleyball. "I wrote an article about the intersectionality of playing beach volleyball and the commercial contracting process," she says, "and it launched my writing journey on LinkedIn and connected me with great legal tech companies and legal leaders." It's a fitting origin story for someone who has built a career on finding structure in unlikely places. The same instinct that let her draw a line between a sand court and a term sheet shows up in how she approaches contracting frameworks, cross-functional partnerships, and the broader question of where legal fits inside a fast-moving business. What started as a single piece of writing turned into a body of work and a network — proof, in her telling, that the most interesting ideas rarely come from staying in your lane.
Who has influenced or helped you on your journey?
Alexandra traces a lot of how she thinks back to her father, Mario Sepulveda. "My father held multiple masters degrees — chemistry, food science, and an MBA," she says. "His foundation of a growth mindset and leading with curiosity is still with me today." It's not hard to see the throughline. A career spent moving fluidly across chemistry, food science, and business becomes, a generation later, a career spent moving fluidly across sales, product, people, and legal — the same instinct to treat expertise as something built across domains rather than confined to one.
Why advise for Sandstone?
Alexandra's answer is brief, and pointed: "I believe in meeting the business where they are working." It's the same conviction that shows up everywhere else in how she operates — the belief that legal's role is to accelerate the business, not slow it down, and that the best legal partners show up inside the actual workflows of Sales, GTM, and Product rather than waiting for requests to land in an inbox. That's a natural fit for what Sandstone is trying to build, and it's why she's advising.
