Who Is Molly Finn
Molly Finn brings more than 20 years of Fortune 500 in-house experience to the table, most recently as VP Deputy General Counsel, Assistant Corporate Secretary, and Chief Compliance Officer at eBay. Across two decades inside one of the world's largest e-commerce companies, she sat at the intersection of legal, governance, and compliance — the kind of seat where the stakes are rarely small and the questions rarely simple. Today, Molly advises early-stage legal AI companies, including Sandstone and Thinkstruct. Beyond her advisory work, she serves as Vice Chair on the Board of World Food Program USA and sits on the Leadership Council of her alma mater, Franklin & Marshall College — a portfolio that reflects someone who has always defined "legal career" more broadly than the job title suggests.
What's one accomplishment you're proud of?
Ask Molly for a career highlight and she doesn't reach for a deal or a title, she reaches for a crisis. "I helped resolve a crisis that was substantively challenging, politically dangerous and a PR nightmare," she says. Then, with the restraint of someone who has clearly seen a few things: "See me for documentary recommendations." It's the kind of answer that says more by what it withholds than what it reveals. Twenty years in Fortune 500 legal and compliance means learning to operate at the exact center of competing pressures, legal exposure, political sensitivity, public perception, all at once, under a clock. The details stay off the record. The instinct that got her through it clearly didn't.
Who has influenced or helped you on your journey?
For Molly, the influence closest to home is the one that's stuck with her longest. "My dad has been an incredible source of wisdom throughout my career," she says. "He set a high bar with his work ethic and has modeled a unique leadership style that involves kindness and humor." It's a small detail with a large footprint. A career spent navigating high-stakes, high-visibility legal and compliance work doesn't get easier by being harder-edged. Molly's answer suggests the opposite: that the leadership style worth modeling is the one that holds work ethic and warmth in the same hand, not one traded for the other.
