From frustration to focus

My co-founder Jarryd lived it firsthand as in-house counsel at a fast-growing B2B software company. Every day, he was buried under Slack pings, procurement tickets, and redlines. Each one depending on some bit of institutional knowledge hidden in someone’s head or an outdated doc.

Meanwhile, I spent years at McKinsey leading the legal tech practice, building legal tech for big firms and Fortune 100 companies. A lack of context impacted every layer of every company I worked with. When Jarryd and I compared notes, the realization was simple but profound: in-house legal teams actually want transformation. There has not been an AI tool built to serve their needs.

We brought together a remarkable team of lawyers and engineers from across legal tech and AI research, and Sandstone was born.
